Jomo “The Hammer” Matos will be teaching wrestling for our youth program at the sarge way
Youth Coach Jomar Matos brings over 7 years of competitive wrestling experience to The Sarge Way program.
He competed for Ronald Reagan High School College Prep, where he wrestled all four years and trained under Coach Malcolm Xavier Briggs, one of the most respected wrestling coaches in the area.

Jomar’s deep passion for wrestling and proven track record make him an exciting new addition to The Sarge Way coaching staff. His focus on discipline, technique, and mental toughness helps young athletes grow both on and off the mat.

Jayla “Sleezy” Gause is our new Youth Strength & Conditioning Coach
“Sleezy “ a dedicated and passionate coach who brings unmatched energy and discipline to The Sarge Way team. A lifelong athlete, Jayla played basketball throughout her years at Brown Deer High School, where she developed her competitive drive and leadership skills. After graduation, she transitioned into mixed martial arts — showcasing her commitment to growth, toughness, and continuous self-improvement.
Currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Jayla balances academics and athletics with determination and focus. As the new Youth Strength & Conditioning Coach at The Sarge Way, she’s dedicated to helping young athletes build strong foundations — both mentally and physically.
Jayla’s goal is to empower the next generation by introducing innovative training methods, keeping fitness fun, and inspiring every athlete to reach their full potential. She continues to pursue her own athletic career while leading by example, proving that hard work and consistency pay off.

Gabrielle “Tree Trunks” Puryear brings power, patience, and precision to every session she leads. As one of our dedicated youth striking coaches, she focuses on building strong fundamentals, discipline, and confidence in every young athlete she trains.
Her background in strength and conditioning adds another layer to her coaching style — pushing students to develop real athleticism, body control, and functional power while keeping training safe, structured, and motivating.
Gabrielle is known for her calm energy, her ability to connect with kids, and her passion for helping them grow both inside and outside the gym. Her goal is simple: build stronger athletes, stronger habits, and stronger futures.
